iPhone: What's Adobe Doing About It?
I was curious if anyone had heard any news about how Adobe might be looking to have their tools integrate with the iPhone in some way.
There's been a lot of buzz about iPhone and Ajax lately and I was wondering what Adobe might have up their sleeves. I just read this post over at Ajaxian:
Phone and Ajax: onpinch(), mac simulator, and Cringely
and with CF8's new Ajax abilities, I'm interested in how I might be able to leverage it for the iPhone. Also, this may be a good way to help Adobe get feedback about how they can help us better target that platform.
While Apple says that "if it runs in Safari, it will run on the iPhone", when working with mobile solutions, there's so much to think about that we normally take for granted on the web.
I'd really love to get feedback on this and if you have links to Adobe iPhone material, I'd love to see it.

For me (as a Flash guy) I'm interested in the Flash potential - I emailed someone at Adobe when the iPhone was first announced saying how excited I was and that it would be cool if Flash and Apollo (now AIR) could be deployed to it. I got 1 reply saying "yup, Flash & Apollo on the iPhone - for sure" and a further one saying, "Huh - what do you mean I said that."
I think the indicator as to whether Adobe have dropped the ball on this or not will be Device Central. If we get an iPhone profile come through the day it launches we're good to go. If it's 2 months down the line and still nothing they we need to be worried.
PS. You comment code doesn't validate .co.uk domains.

Here's the summary:
o Apple announces Apple products... the iPhone is Steve Jobs' news to tell;
o Adobe and Apple work together in many ways;
o the big goal at Adobe is enabling universal publishing, with widespread runtime capability;
o today's web experience includes Flash and Acrobat as accepted standards.
My weblog this week also had links for an iPhone development camp to be held at Adobe's San Francisco offices the weekend of July 6, if you're in the area.

@John: There was so little out there that I wasn't sure if I had missed something. Thanks for the wrap-up. As for the BarCamp, damn, I would love to be there. I live in Ft. Laud though but I have to try to make it to Max and hopefully get a chance to meet you. Thanks again for the info.
Yup, I know what you mean.... ;-)
Out of all those, the big one may be Adobe's goal of enabling universal publishing... that's part of the company's DNA which drives everything else. Servers, clients, mobile are as important as video, documents and print... there's constant pressure here to serve the range of publishing routes today.
