Half-Life 2: Episode 2 Kicked Ass

So I got Half-Life 2: Episode 2 over the weekend and I have to say that it was awesome. Gameplay was short, approx. 8 hours, but man it was totally worth it. It went into more details about the story and really helped to build up the other personalities, especially Alyx Vance. If you've been playing HL2, then the ending for Episode 2 will truly shock you.

This is definitely worth playing. If you're new to the Half-Life 2 series, I would definitely suggest you play both the first version and Episode 1 prior to playing Episode 2 to get a better picture of what's happening.

Rey Bango's Gravatar Yep. I played normal mode and plowed through the challenges. The toughest parts were when you had to fight the Hunters. Very rough!

Jim Priest's Gravatar I need to see if I can get this running on my Linux box at home. HL2 rocked but I haven't played the 2 latest 'Episodes'... never enough time to sit down and play games anymore :(

TJ Downes's Gravatar Rey, agreed. Ep 2 rocks! BTW, there's a super easy way to kill the hunters, give me a shout offline should you want to know. I don't want to spoil it for anyone else :)

Natural Selector's Gravatar 8 hours is really quick. I guess I will wait for the Orange Box where episode 2 is included.

Rey Bango's Gravatar The Orange Box is available for purchase via Steam. I bought HL2 Episode 2 by itself because I already had everything else and I didn't care for Portal or Team Fortress 2

Dan Roberts's Gravatar fyi, Portal and TF2 are a lot of fun and well worth the $20 extra dollars extra over HL2Ep2

I was really surprised by how enjoyable Portal turned out to be--and I don't mean just the gameplay. The humor and developments towards the end of the game were unexpected and awesome.

Jim Priest's Gravatar Is portal a single player experience?? I could see the 'portal' feature being a lot of fun in a good CTF tournament...

Dan Roberts's Gravatar Portal is a single player game. There is talk of how the portal gun could be incorporated into other various games. This was on Digg.com this morning. A description of how to get the Portal gun into HL2 games. I haven't tried it yet though
